IU coaching change

IU just hired a new head football coach, Kevin Wilson. He was previously the offensive coordinator at Oklahoma. He signed a 7 year deal and is hoping on moving the football program in the right direction.

I think it was a good move to hire Wilsin. IU did pretty dismal this past season and definately needs some help. I think Wilson will take his experience from Oklahoma and use it to convert IU into a better program.

Most Dangerous City

Recent studies show that St. Louis is the most dangerous city in the U.S. It does not seem like the case because we live pretty far from them and do not realize all that goes on there. In 2008, there were 2,072 violent crimes in St. Louis.

I did not expect St. Louis to be the most dangerous city in the US. I have been there and it seemed like a nice city. I guess it just depends on where the bad crimes are happening in the city and where people should avoid.

Obama 60 minutes interview

Obama made a lot of good comments in his interview on 60 minutes. He promises us that our economy will be back to normal soon. He also said that he wanta to fix the unemployment problem becauae 9% of our country is unemployed.

Personally, I believe that our economy is getting better. I also think it is a good idea to focus on the unemployed, and if we do this, our economy will be strengthened.

Blonde hair used like gold

For Russia's poor, they use blonde hair to sell. Blonde hair is valuable to these people and they sell the hair to small Russian operators. They say that hair is harvestable and they use it for cash.


I think it is odd that they use hair for money. They use this hair for hair extensions in the United States. An estimated 20% of Russian hair is used domestically.

Zeller to IU

Many people think that Cody Zeller attending IU will be bad for his collegiate career. Zeller was also offered by North Carolina and Butler. His decision will affect other athlete's decisions also.

I think that Zeller attending IU is a bad idea. I personally do not like IU and they are still rebuilding their team. He could have went to Butler or UNC and already have a dynasty infront of him.

College Basketball Recruiting

There has been a lot of speculation concerning the age a person can start getting recruited for college basketball. It seems like the ages keep getting younger every year. A boy from Tech High School has already committed to IU and he has not even played a highschool game yet.

I think that a boy that is looking to play basketball in college can not be recruited or anything untill he has some high school basketball experience. The kids need to learn more about what they are doing and not get wrapped up in all the hype.

BCS Rankings

There has been great controversy regarding the BCS Rankings this season. Undefeated teams like TCU and Boise State probably wont receive a number 1 ranking because of their schedule. Alot of people do not agree with this because they think the record tells it all.


Personally, I think that these non major conference teams do not deserve a number 1 spot. Their strength of schedule is obviously not as tough as a team from the SEC or Big Ten.
